I am making an Armchair companion for my mom for the holidays. Penguins are a family favorite. This design is for the Biscornu that goes on top :)..It is from the Floss Box. The fabrics is opalescent 28ct lugana Spring Garden from Silkweaver.

Everyone have a GREAT WEEK!

A Little More AMAP Victoria Sampler

I got some more of this done this week, but I am running out of a couple of colors and had to reorder. Then I had a OMG moment and realized the date. I have Christmas gifts to make, this is going to have to go to the wayside while I get to work on those. How did this year go so fast. Well here is the picture of the AMAP and hopefully you will see some Christmas gifts soon :).

WooHoo a stitching finish and

I have been waxing nostalgic about some of my old projects that I have, ummm, slowed down on in the past (code word for set aside and haven't done a darn thing on). So anyway, I finished stitching the BBD Flowers for Sarah Needlecase but I am sure it will take me awhile to find the perfect fabric for the back and edges.
I also dug out my old AMAP Victorias Quaker which I am being creative with and making up colors as I go, I know, not always the best idea but who knows. Anyway here it is up to this point, I got quite a bit done on it this week.

Well off to work. Take care everyone, more later.

Lots of Catching up to Do

Yep, I am slow this month, LOL.
First I received two exchanges!!
First from All Season Ornament Exchange I received an adorable ornie from Jayne P. The design is Boo Moon by Val's Stuff. He is too cute and I love the little moon button. Thanks so much Jayne, I adore it.
Then I received my HOE Halloween Exchange from Suzanne from Australia. This is my favorite Prairie School When Witches go Riding. I love this design and the Halloween goodies were too cute. I love my exchange, thanks so much Suzanne.
I also finished my Ornament Exchange to Jayne and she should have it by now, so I will post it here. On one side is Wicked by Just Nan and on the other Batty Jack also by Just nan. They are stitched on 30ct WDW Peoria Purple Linen.
And I also picked up a BBD design Flowers for Sarah Needlecase. I am actually making it a wall hanging. I am on the last section now..
Finally, a nonstitching picture. These are our three kitties. They don't settle down together too often. The Tortoise shell is Calypso (aka Callie, she is 6 months), the red is Nala (1 year) and the all black is DC (he is 9 years old). DC is not too fond of Callie, LOL. But he adores Nala. No our pets are not spoiled, LOL..
Have a FANTASTIC WEEK!

October 5, 2009

Border finished

finally. I won't be able to show pictures of the other things I have worked on this week since they are secret for exchanges, LOL.. But here is the border finished on my Halloween RR. Yay, now just to figure out exactly what I want to put in the last to squares.

September 28, 2009

Halloween RR

I have been working on the border for my Halloween RR that everyone else has done their part on and is now home. Wow, I didn't realize I had made so much border, LOL.
Here is what I worked on when I could last week:
before
AfterEveryone have a Great Week

September 18, 2009

Now I know my ABC's Won't you Happy Dance with ME!

Lizzie Kate
ABC Lessons
32ct PTP Crystal Chimes Linen
Yes I have finished it. This Weekend I will be looking for a frame for it and a couple other finishes. Then I am going to work on finishing up my Halloween RR and some halloween pieces I need to do for exchanges. In fact I declare it Halloween Stitching Month, LOL..

September 14, 2009

Weekend ABCs

This weekend I worked on Lizzie Kates ABC Lessons and I hope to get it completely finished this week :). It is stitched on PTP Crystal Chimes, a very pretty off white or cream colored opalescent fabric.

September 10, 2009

Last Weeks stitching

I did actually get some stitching done last week and over the long weekend. Also decided that I really only liked the center part of Sleepy Hollow and didn't want the sides, LOL. So I moved the moon over to the center and am calling it done. It was just going to be too big the other way and I really was only interested in the center of the design. So I am saying it is finished now and need to frame it.
I also worked on my HAED piece QS Dark Cherry, I am now up to almost 4800 stitches done. Gee, only about 28,000 to go, LOL.. But I do like the colors and am finally getting to work on her and not moon and background.
I also have been able to get some stitches into the Lizzie Kate ABC lessons while the kids have been napping during the day. This one is a fairly easy and quick stitch :)....Well have a GREAT DAY and get lots of stitching done.

August 31, 2009

Sleepy Hollow Weekend Stitching

It was a busy weekend but I did get some stitching done on Sleepy Hollow. I am going to try to get the center piece finished this week. Here is where I am at by the end of the weekend.

August 30, 2009

While I don't usually do personal stuff

except stitching here I have to show you our latest family addition. She is from the Catsnap Cat Rescue group...She is only 4 months old and her primary person is our teenage boy :). (our teenage girl got her cat in March). Her name is Calypso (Callie for short, he named her). She is a tortoiseshell kitten... So here she is..

August 26, 2009

Icabod is here

I finished Icabod Crane on the Sleepy Hollow piece. It is starting to take form now. I have now started the scary tree on the other side of the horseman. This really is kinda a fun piece to stitch and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow was always one of my favorite stories. (not to mention Johnny Depp looked fantastic as Icabod, LOL)

August 24, 2009

Some Weekend Stitching

I have narrowed myself down to two main pieces I will be focusing on. Not that I won't stitch other things as I go along, but these will be my primary.

First I worked on my QS Dark Cherry all of last week. I know it doesn't look like much accomplished but I did get some done.
I also picked up Sleepy Hollow that I started last year. I got the headless horseman done and started on Icabod and his horse. I hope to at least get this center piece done before Halloween. This is a triple piece by Cross-Eyed Cricket. You can see it here. I will continue working on this one through the week, then probably go back to Dark Cherry on the weekend.. The fabric is opalescent Enchanted Fabrics Hocus Pocus.

Everyone have a Stitchy Week!

August 19, 2009

So much stitching to do and So Little Time

I did get a little bit more done on my HAED, not a lot but a little. I get to do part of her face very soon, that will make it seem like I am progressing :)..
And I got this beautiful ornament from Sharon in the ASOE Exchange. It is so summery and cute, I love it. Thanks Sharon.

August 17, 2009

Weekend Stitching

Well I did get some done, not as much as I would like, but some.

I finished up Vicki's Birthday Present on time. Happy Birthday Vicki! It is LHN Roses on Impie, Hattie and Bea rose pocket. (and the pink trim is not that pink, more of a mauve)
and got some HAED Stitching worked on too. This is where I am with Dark Cherry. Since I had to start her over again I am much happier with over 2 stitching on 40ct than I was with over one on 28. I know she won't be quite as defined but my stitching is much neater and much easier for me.

August 14, 2009

Stitching and Ornaments

I received a wonderful ornament from Jill for the All Season Ornament Exchange. This one was stitchers choice and she sent me some wonderful blackbirds (my favorite).
I finished the stitched part of Vicki's present now all I need to do is add it to the pretty rose pocket it goes on :).. Please excuse the pins was just testing it out, LOL.

Have a GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!

August 13, 2009

Well it is that time again

to look at where I am so late in the year. I do this every year and this year has been a messy one. So I have not been able to stitch as much as I like and I have some pieces I really want to finish. So I have pared down my currently working on list to the following: HAED QS Dark Cherry, Mirabilia the Kiss, HAED Sisters (which my sister Vicki and I are working on together), and Sleepy Hollow. I definitely want to get Dark Cherry done by the end of the year, but I figure I need to put 2 weeks worth of time into her each month, so we shall see.

I figure I will do small projects as I go in between. I need to do an ornament for ASOE and at the Needle Nook we are doing charity bookmarks, so I will be doing that too :).

So no pictures today, but hopefully tomorrow I can show you the birthday present or at least the stitched part, I am working on for Vicki :)>.

Have a GREAT DAY!

August 10, 2009

Weekend stitching

This weekend I didn't get as much as I wanted done but.
I did finish an ornament for the All Season Ornament exchange Stitchers Choice exchange. I made this freebie into an ornie for my partner. she said that she liked sheep, and with help from a friend I found this freebie. It is a little different shape for an ornie, but I wanted to do something different.
Then I started Velcome Garden from Down Sunshine Lane on some very pretty opalescent Evergreen lugana from Enchanted Fabrics.

Well, Everyone have a good week!

August 3, 2009

Stitching and Stash Diving

Good Morning. It was a fairly productive weekend. I finished an ornament for an exchange, working on Vicki's birthday present and found a fun project that had been lost away. I also working on my ABC Lizzie Kate piece.

The down side: I figured out that I was using too small a piece of fabric for Vicki's present now have to start all over again (Ugh)..

This is the little more I added to the Lizzie Kate ABC Lessons
This is a sampler I did in 1988. It was when DMC was pushing their new variegated fibers. I don't even remember where the design came from, I wasn't keeping track. I do know it was kind of a pain to stitch because you had to separate the floss from light to medium and then medium to dark to get the effect needed for the design :).. Now I need to reframe it.
And finally here is the ornament I made this weekend. It is from Milady's Needle Quaker Christmas smalls. I put the name of the recipient on the back.. Wish I took better photos. Well that is all for today. Have a great week everyone!

July 30, 2009

WOW

I received the most amazing exchange from Vonna yesterday. I adore this box. It is a design I have been dying to do myself. It is Homespun Elegance ~ "Witches Stitch Too!"
Fabric: 30 ct. Straw Weeks Dye Works. She was so afraid she took to long on this one but it was so worth it. I treasure this wonderful box (yes, I am a Halloween freak, LOL). Thank you, Thank You, Thank You Vonna. Oh and as you can all see it is completely finished with Vonna perfection :)..

July 26, 2009

My Weekend Stitching Fun

I actually Got things Accomplished this weekend. Vicki and I worked together on this sewing pocket for my Mom's birthday. The pink ribbon and blue buttons are not so bright but much more subtle, LOL. They do compliment the pocket more than it shows here. This is the LHN design To Thine Own Self be True..
I finished up Spongebob. Then I finished Hannah's Rr for Witching for Stitching. This is my cat from Prairie Moon.
I also started an ornament for my ornie exchanges. I am working on an aida bag for my mom for her birthday with all the families first names on it. Hope to get it done by Tuesday evening. Cross your fingers, I can't work on it when she is around, LOL..

Have a Great Week.

July 20, 2009

Spongebob Done

Yes, he is finally finished, but I haven't completely decided how to finish him out. He will be either a small pillow or a doorknob knocker, just can't decide. Either way I still need to go get some supplies to finish him, hmmmmm..

Started on a LHN To Thine Own Self be True for my Mom for her birthday. Vicki and I are both stitching on it and then going to put it onto a sewing pocket and make a small fob and needlebook to go with it..
Well all for now..Have a Great Week!

July 10, 2009

Spongebob under the needle

I am working on this Spongebob to make a pillow for a young penpal I have. It is on a very pretty Silkweaver Opalescent Solo 16ct aida I had. I usually don't have aida so I don't know where it came from but it turned out to be perfect for this design, it is not as purply as it shows in this picture.. I hope to finish it this weekend.

July 8, 2009

Barbara Ana Good Luck Biscornu

for Vonna's Birthday. I really like this bright little design. When I feel blue I love to stitch Barbara Ana's stuff, It is too cute..This picture was borrowed from Vonna because it was so much nicer than the picture I took :)

June 28, 2009

Traveling Stitcher

all done. Made a few very minor changes. I really like it :)..

June 27, 2009

More Traveling Stitcher and a Small finish

I finished the Needlebook cover for the LHN Traveling stitcher. Today we are going to finish them up and attach the stitched pieces to the finished pocket.
Then last night I just wanted to do something quick and easy so I stitched Sweet Sentiment a freebie by Linda Palmer. I love the saying. It seems to be what I need this year, LOL. It is stitched on an opalescent linen with Carries Creation Epiphany Silk floss.

June 24, 2009

LHN Traveling Stitcher

Here is the first part of the Traveling Stitcher from Little House Needleworks done. This part goes on the outside of the pouch and forms an addition pocket. (excuse the wrinkles, I haven't ironed it yet :) )

June 21, 2009

Don't Worry Be Hippie Done

WOOHOO. All finished and put on the top of Vicki's Box..

June 15, 2009

Be Hippie progress

This is for a sudberry box for my sister. It is only a year late getting done, LOL..I promised to stitch her something for the lid last year, then hated what I was stitching. this is the replacement. It is about 1/2 done. Hopefully I can finish it this week :)..

June 14, 2009

My Witching for Stitching Halloween RR

returned to my home recently. Everyone who worked on it did a fantastic job. I just have 2 of the eight squares to finish. I am going to get my sister Vicki to stitch one and I will do the other.
Here it is right now.

June 12, 2009

LHN Traveling Stitcher

This is what I am working on this week. It is the traveling stitcher pocket from LHN. I have got the pouch or pocket to put it onto when done. My sister and I are both working on it at the same time :)..
Everyone have a GREAT Weekend!

June 8, 2009

Finally Back!

I really fell of the world for awhile, stopped stitching and just cocooned, but now I am back. I started stitching again this last week. I got quite a bit done actually for not having stitched much at all the last month.
This is a little surprise I am working on for my sister. Her birthday is in August. It will go in a trivet frame. The design is Sisters-Best Friends from Hobb Nobb.
The picture below is Just Nan's Whimsy summer made into an ornament for an exchange. It is outlined in beads and the handle is made of beads.

Finally the above picture is a blurry shot of my 2 over 40ct restart of my HAED Black Cherry. I am enjoying it much more than 1 over 28. :). And the colors are really bright.
I have now started on LHN Traveling Stitcher piece. I am gonna work on a few little ones to get my mojo going and then get back to the biggies.
I will be around more now!!!

May 4, 2009

Bummer

I had to restart my HAED Black Cherry this weekend. A couple of reasons. First I tried to stitch on it while I was ill and really messed up the counting. Secondly, since my health issues, I find I my concentration just a little off (probably some of the meds) so one over 28 just gets me messed up. So I started her over again on 40ct over two. For some reason over two is easier for me right now. It will be larger so we will just how to see how it turns out. I'll post some of it that I have done tomorrow.

April 26, 2009

WooHoo Made it!!

Here is my version of the BBD chart. It is in 115 red and black. The date is my parents wedding day and the last name is there. The small letters are their initials. My father died in 1992, but we still celebrate their anniversary some every year..

April 20, 2009

Vonna's WS Round Robin Piece

I finished Vonna's RR piece this weekend end. It is Cross-Eyed Cricket - Two Familiars, Nevermore. I used DMC for the Raven. I hope she likes it. I only have one more RR piece to do in this one and then we are finished, wow, that went fast..
Here it is Vonna dyed the fabric hereself and it is so pretty.
My next project is the BBD contest piece. My mom picked the color and I am putting her last name and the year she and my father got married on it..Their anniversary would have been May 8th. Everyone have a Fantastic DAY!!

April 13, 2009

A BBD Finish

I finished one of the stockings from Blackbird Designs. It was for a Spring Ornament Exchange. I loved doing this one. It is on 40ct Antique white linen using the DMC substitutions. The hanger is beaded but because of the background color it is really hard to see...

March 31, 2009

A Little Inspiration

I suddenly had this desire last night to put a few stitches into Inspiration (and I couldn't find the floss for the BBD I am working on, LOL). So I decided to make the SAL I am doing with Vonna on this start a day early. Here is where I am now. Sorry, guess I could have done better with the picture :).

March 30, 2009

Some Stitching this Weekend

I finished up my CCN Garden Party Dragonfly, I love Dragonflies. I started this one while I was in the hospital but didn't get too far. Here he is all finished. Haven't quite figured out what to make him into, any suggestions.
Then I worked on the Lizzie Kate ABC Lessons along with Vonna and Amy. Somehow the way this year has gone, this design has special meaning to me. I am stitching it on Picture This Plus Crystal Chime 32ct linen. The fabric has such a pretty tint to it. I love the way it is coming out.
This week I try to get on my schedule until Friday, then I am going to spend a couple days staying at the hospital with my Mom while she has knee surgery so I will work on some small projects :). Oh and I did figure out what to put on Vonna's Witching for Stitching RR and my ornie for the exchange..YAYAYAYAYAY.. See Ya all later..

March 23, 2009

WooHoo Finally

stitching again. Just working on something small this weekend but I think I got my stitching bug back again...yayayayayayayay. I am working on Garden Party Dragonfly and it should be done tonight. Hopefully I will have a picture tomorrow and get back on my rotation of days going again...

Have a GREAT WEEK EVERYONE!

Cautionary Tale and Thanks and Love Sent out

Hi Everyone so sorry I have been away for so long. It was so close to being forever. I don't write about my personal life much but I am doing so now as a cautionary tale to all of you to watch and advocate for yourselves. I had a spiral fracture to my right leg in January and it was surgically repaired. No one in my family has had blood clot issues and the doctor did not feel it necessary to put me on any blood thinning drugs. Almost one month to the day of my surgery I started having shortness of breath and extreme fatigue after writing it off as a bad cold on Thursday evening I crawled into bed. Friday morning I woke up and could barely move, 2 steps, lie down, catch breath, 2 more steps. My sister rushed me to the ER. It turns out I have a saddle Pulmonary Embolism (blood clot) blocking both sides of my lungs at the top and putting pressure on the right side of my heart. I am one of the lucky ones, I almost died in ER but I did not thanks to quick thinking family and friends, the fatality rate for my type of PE is approximately 80%. I have now spend 10 days in the hospital and will spend another 6 to 8 months on drugs to thin my blood and help the clots dissolve. At the same time this condition can now cause my squeezed heart to develop problems.

My caution is this tale is that you need to advocate for yourself with the doctor. I should have pushed on the blood thinners for the surgery, I should have questioned more about clots. Anytime you see a doctor, make sure they know your entire family history and question question question.

The Most Important Thing I learned: My stitching friends are the greatest friends in the world. Special thanks to Amy, Vonna, Christina, Robin, Brenda and Vicki, for all the love, support, prayers and kindness in the world.
Without all of you and I am sure I wouldn't be here :)...

Anyway off my soap box. I hope to get out of the hospital today and quit being quite the human pincushion and start stitching. See you all around :)......Watch for some stitching to appear here again very soon.

February 26, 2009

Some Stitching the Last Few Days

I worked on my Inspiration piece on Tuesday night of my rotation. I am hoping this one will get done this summer, but we shall see.. Here is the progress on it.
I also started on a SAL of By Gone Stitches Quaker Virtues with Amy, Vonna and Nicole. I didn't get a lot done, but I love my color choice (not traditional but what I like, LOL). It is FAntasm by Carries Creations..
Well off to work with the Rugrats, more later.

February 24, 2009

And the winner is

WooHoo BBD finish and delay in drawing

The Mystery Sampler got finished about 10:00 last night. This is not the best picture. I will get a better one when I get it framed this week. I am so excited and I really love this piece.
Also, I decided to wait one more day to draw the winner of my blogoversary prize. To give some people I know were gone over the weekend a chance :)..

February 20, 2009

Happy 2 years to me

It was two years ago today I started blogging. So I will have a give away for it. I have some duplicate BBDs and a couple LHN or CC that I will put in a special pack and send out to someone. It will be a surpise goodie package to celebrate. Post a comment and I will announce the winner on Monday.

Sorry not much stitching to show, this leg thing has kinda gotten me off schedule, but I plan to finish the BBD Mystery this weekend and maybe then I can get my stitching jump started again.
Well Good luck to you!!

February 8, 2009

Finished Donna's RR piece

I stitched Plum Street Samplers The Pretties for it. I thought the witch reclining in the living room talking to her spider was perfect for the house..

February 3, 2009

BBD, Ornie from Donna and My Wheels

I received a gorgeous ornament from Donna for the Winter Ornie Exchange on the all Seasons Exchange. Isn't it too cute, I love it Donna, Thank you so much.
Then I did finally get some stitching done. I finished the fourth part of The BBD Mystery Sampler, I can't wait to get the 5th and final part to finish it..The colors go perfect with the walls in our living room.
And last but not least, here is my new means of transportation. The doctor says absolutely no weight bearing on the broken ankle for at least 8 weeks, and as I am crutches challenged here is how I get around. I kneel on the "seat" with my bad leg and push around with the good leg. It is slow but I get there, LOL. Of course, I have fallen off once already, LOL.

Everyone have a GREAT DAY!!

January 26, 2009

May be quiet for a little while

I am not getting much stitching done right now. I fell on the ice on Sunday and I broke my leg. I need to go get surgery on Thursday to pin it back together. I haven't done much stitching but hopefully will get back to it as soon as possible...I miss stitching..

January 23, 2009

A Little more Mystery

BBD mystery sampler that is...I love this saying and very much fits me, since I can't seem to unwind my day until I stitch a little.
Also in response to questions I have been receiving, here are the charts which contain the first 4 parts of this mystery.
Loose Feathers 31 - Blessings and Kind Wishes
Loose Feathers 32 - Beyond my Heart
Loose Feathers 33 - Keepsake box and Pinkeep

Have fun!

A Little Inspiration and some floss tosses

I worked on my Rosewood Manor Inspiration SAl with Vonna yesterday. I got a little more accomplished. Then I also did a floss toss for Isabelle Vautier's Grand Marquoir and Quaker Virtures. Here they are:
Quaker Virtures will be on 40ct Antique white over 2 with Carries Creation Fantasm.
The Grand Marquoir will be on the same fabric over 2 with Carries Creation Epiphany silk.
