NN Magnet Exchange

I finished stitching my Needle Nook Magnet Exchange piece. It is a little large but I think it is perfect for my exchange partner. I am putting it in a magnet frame. I will make a fabric backing on it next weekend during my Sunday finishing hour :)..

Flip Flop Stitching Finished

I have finished stitching the flip flop for my SAL at Needle Nook. I still need to make it into a flipflop but that will be my next week finishing project. I'm finished out today :)..It is stitched on 30ct R&R Reproductions Linen - Parched Bones.

Peacock Chair Together

Well finally. It is not as good as I would like, I made a few booboos, but for my first try at something to construct, I'm not too unhappy. If I were to construct something again, I've learned a lot on this project.

This is the back (above). I wish I had been perfect putting it together, but I wasn't. But overall I am happy with it. And it looks very cute on my table..

Current WIPs

I have a couple smaller projects going right now along with trying to finish up the Peacock Chair. I am working on a Flipflop SAL with Robin (who has already finished her's) Here is my progress so far, it is 30ct Parched Bones Linen from R&R.

The Christmas Mandala freebie from Chatelaine is taking a little longer. I am having counting issues, LOL. I guess I just can't get myself into it like I should. I will put more time in this week and maybe it will get easier..These are parts of the Peacock chair that I have gotten put together so far. The rest will be finished this weekend.

Letter C Sampler Finished

I did manage to finish the Letter C sampler by Erica Michaels. Once again I changed the colors and this is on Opalescent Sahara by Enchanted Fabrics.

Shame on me

I didn't get the finishing on the chair done this weekend. It was just way to busy, with way to much going on. In fact I didn't get too much done. Tomorrow I'll have pictures of I hope the finished Letter C sampler and part of my flipflop ornament. Then I will work on my Christmas Mandala and a magnet I need to get going on for an exchange. My RR at the Needle Nook is a finishing of one I started once before. So I really won't have much to get ready for that!!!

Not Forgotten

I haven't forgotten to post, we have just been so busy with soccer games that I haven't gotten too much done in the way of stitching, but hopefully tonight I can get more done and have some progress pictures to post. I am making some progress on the Christmas Mandala, although for some reason I am having trouble getting my stitches placed right. I am about 1/2 done with the Letter C sampler, I think I will probably work on it tonight. I am looking forward to getting the peacock chair put together this weekend!!! I am going out Saturday to get the materials I need to finish it. I am also going to try to get a flip flop stitched on Friday and then get it put together this weekend also..

Weekend Stitching

It was a serious weekend of the frogs. It seemed like I removed almost as many stitches as I put in this weekend. Don't know where my head was, but I had some serious counting difficulties. I worked on my SAL for the Chatelaine Christmas Mandala with Lin for most of Saturday (after the soccer games) and then Sunday morning, then became so annoyed with frogging, I changed projects. Here is where I got to on the mandala.

Then I went to work on the Erica Michaels Letter C Sampler. I changed all the colors to something brighter and it is stitched on 28ct Opalescent Sahara from Enchanted Fabrics. I'll have to make a complete list of the color changes and a record of them for my journal.

But even on this little thing I ended up off on the borders. It just seems somedays, you just aren't really meant to get anywhere stitching.

Chatalaine Christmas Mandala

Started this Freebie in a SAL with Lin of Cross Stitch Treasure (xstreasures.com). We exchanged freebies with all materials, and she and I send each other the same freebie. Since we both had it we decided to SAL. This is a conversion as seen on the Chatelaine board..

Stitching Done - Peacock Chair

Well, I finished all the stitching on the chair. I won't get it put together until next weekend since I need to go get some of the materials for the finishing. I didn't stitch anything on the bottom of the chair because I am looking for the perfect charm or button for the bottom. Here are pics of the stitching:

Peacock Chair Update

Well I got two more parts of the chair stitched. I am hoping to have it all stitched by the end of tonight.
Here are the arms of the chair And here is the fob that goes with the chair as a cushion.
This is really fun to stitch and is going together really quickly. I really love the colors I am using for it and the Dinky Dyes are so nice to work with...

Back of Chair Stitched

I finished the stitching on the back of the Peacock chair in a speedy sugar frenzy (too much Easter chocolate).. I really like working with the Dinky Dyes.

Cat Whisker's Peacock Chair started

I got the layout done (whoopie, not much to look at). This has got to be my least favorite part of stitching, is gridding. Man, I hate that more than anything. But anyway it is done. I am trying to stitch on linen again after a good many years of running away from it...so we shall see how it goes. The chair is stitched with Dinky dyes and the actually stitching shouldn't take too long. It may take awhile to put together because I need to go gather the supplies for building the chair :).

Letter B Sampler Finished

The Letter B sampler is finished. I changed out the original colors for brighter colors. I used Carrie's Creations Hot Pink, Taffy, and Goblin Green. The yellow is a bright yellow DMC and the sparkle is a Balger Kreinik #4 Braid. I stitched it on 28ct Opalescent Dyeing4U Buttercream. The chart is from the Alphabet Sampler book from Erica Michaels and the Rainbow Gallery Site.

Progress on letter B Sampler

I have finished all the B's and added the border. I just have the flowers and butterflies to add, along with the stitch name at the bottom. I think I will have it finished by tonight.. This is my progress so far. I have changed all the colors and the fabrics. I am using Carries Creation Hot pink for the border, I'll list the other colors when I finish.

I joined a bookmark exchange on RN today and we will be starting a new Round Robin on the Needle Nook soon. I will have to figure out what I want to stitch for that. I am thinking the Dragon Dreams Alphabet, but haven't decided for sure yet. I still have to figure out a magnet for the Needle Nook Exchange too.

By Erica Michaels. I have changed the colors to more pinks and yellows on a butter cream color fabric. I will try to have a picture for tomorrow. I have been working on it off and on for the last few days..Hopefully I will finish it on Monday, so I can do the prepwork on the Peacock chair this weekend..

Freebie Exchange

April 3, 2007 - I received my kit a freebie exchange (the Needle Nook BB) from Lin yesterday and I can't wait to start, but I have to. She sent me all the stuff to make the Chatelaine Christmas Tree Mandala with a conversion by someone from the Chatelaine board, it is so pretty. SMO April Blackwork Done

I finished the April blackwork this evening. It didn't have as many stitches or as many beads. The bunnies are actually much lighter, more of a cream color in the corners..

Last Day of March - April Blackwork SAL

I got this far stitching on our last day for the month. We started our blackwork Sal a day early. Here it is so far..(sorry not the best picture, not sure why..

It is stitched on 28ct white opie lugana with Carrie's Creation TyeDye fibers.. It is a very quick stitch so I think I may get done tomorrow after the housework is done :)

Halloween Gameboard WIP Progress

I am once again caught up with what has been released on the Halloween gameboard by Tanya Meehan Designs. It is on her site tanyameehandesigns.com. It is turning out very cute. Can't wait to see what she adds next. Here is the picture so far.

This weekend I will be working on the blackwork sal with Robin. I am not sure what I will be working on the next couple days. Maybe I'll do another letter for my alphabet!!

Algerian Eyelet - Letter A

I put the words Algerian Eyelet at the bottom of my Letter A sampler for my sampler book by Erica Michaels. I am doing it a little differently because I want the pages to be different colors not back to back same color. Hope I can work it out okay... Here it is complete

I also really, really want to set up a group to do the Ackworth Friendship book by With My Needle. Not too many on the group seem to excited about it, but I will keep on working on it. I think it would be something to cherish from fellow stitchers. See the picture below.

Flip Flop Ornament complete

Not the best job I have ever done on the finishing. I learned a lot and the next one I do will be handled differently. I think I will either do the pink one or the pansies ones..

I started working on my dragon RR, but it crashed and burned. I really messed up, not sure how and I am not up to correcting it right now. I think I will get my April stuff together and start some of them early. I think I will work on mostly smaller projects next month..

Cross Eyed Cricket Flip Flop Ornie

I have the stitching done on the SAL that I was doing with Robin at the Needle Nook forum...I will finish it up this weekend. It will have craft foam soles, ribbon toe strap and a accessory button. Can't wait to see it finished but first I need to finish Tanya's model!!!

Frogs, Frogs and more frogs

Okay, this must be frog week. I worked on my flipflops last night and thought I had the palm tree all done, only to find I had made a one stitch error at the top. So out it all comes. I guess this is my week for not paying attention to what I am doing!!! Well back to it. I hope to finish the stitching tonight and then put the flipflop together this weekend!! I need to get back to work on the model so I can get it done by 4/1..

Flip Flop Ornaments

I started on my flipflop ornament Monday night. I got the darker color done on the palm tree. It is the first time in years I have stitched on linen. It is much nicer than it was when I tried it the first time and the green color for this is so pretty...I will try to get it completely stitched in the next few days and then put it together this weekend!! I will try to have a picture tomorrow of what I have done of it.

Model Stitching

I finished the first of two models for Tanya this weekend. I am a little paranoid when stitching so I did some tearing out (frog, frog, frog) to get it right!!! I have another small one to finish but today I will be working on my flip flop Sal with Robin. It won't take too long. I haven't worked on linen in a long time, so it sh0uld be very interesting!!

Slump

I went through about a 4 day stitching slump in which I didn't want to stitch or even pick up a needle. But I think that has finally passed. I also didn't want to mess with the computer too much either, so that explains the lack of posting!!

Egypt Garden Progress

I got over 2000 stitches in this weekend. I am very happy with the way the Chatelaine Egypt Garden is working out. I will probably work on Midi 1 for a couple of days this week..

Christmas at Bunyip Billabong

by Dinky Dyes. I just finished this ornament for my monthly ornament sal I am doing (with myself), LOL...I want to finish one Christmas ornament each month. It is stitched with 28ct Silkweaver Solo Opalescent Lugana using Dinky dyes. There are two choices for dragon, either purple or blue, I went ahead and did the blue conversion...

March 1st - New Month of Stitching

I start on my Christmas at Bunnyip Billabong by Dinky Dyes on the 1st. It is my ornament for the month. Of course, it has a dragon on it!! The Dinky Dye silks are so smooth and soft they just glide through the fabric which is a opalescent Silkweaver Solo...I'll post a picture this weekend, I hope to finish it.

It is Stitchathon month on two of the groups I am in. So I need to try to keep track of my stitches. I am not good at keeping track of times. I am just up and down too much!!

My Round Robin has Returned

It is now home. Vicki put the Imagination Creation on it the last few days (the mermaid, unicorn, dragon creator) from Dragon Dreams. Lori did the Fairy from Passione Ricamo. Tanya did the very pretty Just Nan flowers and Jill did the panda and sports. The theme was to stitch what you liked to stitch. I, of course, did the Dani the Dragon from Dragon Dreams at the top!! Everyone of them did an absolutely fantastic job!

I pulled out all the basting stitches, so now I probably need to put a border around the sections, but I am still trying to decide. I think I will finish it as a wall hanging, kind of a wide bell pull...

A Quick Finish

I finished up the Letter A Sampler I started on Saturday. It is a freebie from the Rainbow Gallery Website by Erica Michaels. It is part of a series to complete the alphabet. There is a book to show how to make these samplers into one small alphabet book. I am going to try to make it. I have converted all the colors to ones I liked. The fibers are Needle Necessities, Petite Treasure Braids and Kreiniks. The fabric is 28ct Enchanted Fabric Sahara Opalescent Lugana.

Seasonal Dragons RR

This is my seasonal RR from CSC. I have not stitched my portion of it yet. I just received it back yesterday. I want to finish it this month!! My first completed RR when I get it done..

The Kiss - A little more done

Her hair is a real pain. But I got a lot more done this weekend, although it doesn't necessarily look like it...I still have a little brown to do and then lots of beads through her hair. I have decided to next move to his clothing and give him the appropriate hair style, LOL..

Dragon Dreams Rune Keeper

This is actually a round robin I started last year. Others have stitched 5 of the squares (not all of them are shown in the picture, but it is the only one I have at the moment). I am working on the center top row design which is the warrior princess. I got her face, hair and sword hilt stitched last night. There is a lot of backstitching in this piece, as there always are in Dragon Dreams designs, but it adds so much detail to the design.. Hopefully I will have it done by the weekend so I can work on the Kiss for the rest of the week.

Mirabilia "The Kiss"

This is a long term WIP. It is the Kiss from Mirabilia but I am adapting it to be a Phantom of the Opera type piece. It is slow, but I hope to finish it this year. I am trying to get at least 1000 stitches into it each month (I know I need a lot more to get done by the end of the year, but I will get there)..
